Biography Laetitia Casta was born on May 11, 1978 in the town of Pont-Audemer which is located in the Normandy region of France. The middle child of Dominique and Line Casta, she has an older brother, Jean-Baptiste, and a younger sister, Marie-Ange. Although Laetitia spent her childhood in Normandy, she and her family would often visit Corsica, where her father is from. In fact, it was in Corsica that Laetitia was "discovered". When she was fifteen, her brother entered her into the "Miss Lumio" contest, Lumio being the village where her father was born. She of course won the title of "Miss Lumio", and a few days later, while on the beach with her family, a photographer and agent from Madison Models spotted her. Her father noticed the pair, and when they approached, he was a little wary. But after talking to them, he agreed to take Laetitia to the agency headquarters in Paris for test shots. Dominique took Laetitia to meet Vincent Peter, the founder of Madison Models. He was very taken with the young girl, and decided that the casting director for the French edition of Elle, Odile Sarron, should also have a look. Turns out, she was just as impressed with Laetitia as Vincent was. The rest, as they say, is history! Laetitia has been featured everywhere. From Guess? Jeans, her first major American advertising campaign, to Victoria's Secret, Sports Illustrated swimsuit editions, Rolling Stone, Pirelli Tires, L'Oreal, being the muse of Yves St. Laurent, as well as hundreds of magazine covers, Laetitia is one of the most well-known supermodels of the late 90's. Yet her most incredible achievement has to be becoming the Marianne of the Millennium, an honor bestowed upon her by the mayors of France. Although Laetitia still indulges in modeling, she has turned her sights to acting. Her first role was as Falbala in Asterix et Obelix contre Cesar. It was a small role, but it obviously made an impact, as she then got the starring role in a television movie called Le Bicyclette Bleu. Some of the other movies she has starred in include Les Ames Fortes, Gitano, Rue des Plaisirs, Errance, And Luisa San Felice. -Credit
